Our History

The idea of VW H.A.B.I.T.S. was conceived in 1997 after the club president(Dave) left his role as co-president of German Advocates - a South LA VW club at the time. After learning the ups and downs of running a Volkswagen club, Dave wanted to start another club; correcting the negative things and improving upon the positive things that he saw in his first club.

After almost a ten year hiatus, Dave came back on the scene and met up with a new group of VW enthusiast in the South L.A. area. Out of this group Dave met Ron - one of the most dedicated dub enthusiasts one could ever meet. Dave pitched his idea to Ron about starting the club up. Ron was wholeheatedly with the idea, and thus became the first member.

The first meeting was held on Saturday, July 30th at McDonalds on Crenshaw and Florence. Later the location was moved to the McDonalds in Chesterfield Square off of Slauson and Western.
